Purpose & Explanation

Staff is seeking funding from the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation through a Trench Safety Grant to assist with funding a new trench box to be used for storm sewer and waterline maintenance, repairs and replacement. The current equipment is older, heavy and difficult to work with. The City is eligible for up to $12,000 in funding.  The City of Hudson will be responsible for 20% of the purchase price up to a maximum of $2,400.00.

Staff recommends that Council pass this Resolution, affirming the City Manager’s Designee’s application submittal to the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation for a Trench Safety Grant on behalf of the Public Works Service Division and Water Resources Division.
