Purpose & Explanation

The Fire Department has had difficulty purchasing pursuit style vehicles for Fire that were budgeted in 2023, due to Manufacturing issues over the past several years with these types of vehicles.  The opportunity to place an order for the 2025 vehicle has presented itself from Montrose Ford in Fairlawn, Ohio.  The Administration would like to place the order now using 2024 funds thereby allowing a faster delivery in 2025 and the use of 2024 funds that are remaining in the capital vehicle account that had been budgeted for a new brush fire truck, but that project has been pushed back to 2025 due to the current brush fire truck still being in good condition. The cost of the fire vehicle is $45,174.75 (Montrose Ford quote is attached.)

The total cost for the vehicle plus all associated costs for radios, graphics, lights, sirens and all other emergency equipment is not to exceed $71,000.00
