Brief Description:  This Ordinance authorizes revisions to Hudson’s Codified Ordinances to incorporate various ordinances and resolutions of a general and permanent nature that have been passed by Council since the date of the last updating through October 15, 2019, and to include changes reflecting current State law through July 30, 2019.

Resolution No. 18-176, authorizing Code update reflecting annual changes to local laws through Sept. 18, 2018 and State laws through June 29, 2018 (similar to proposed legislation); passed November 20, 2018.

Purpose & Explanation

The attached Ordinance was prepared by American Legal Publishing Corporation, as the firm engaged by the City, to compile and incorporate modifications and updates to the City’s Codified Ordinances, as follows: 

 

Section 1 of the Ordinance approves and incorporates revisions to the City’s Codified Ordinances since the last codification, pursuant to legislation passed by City Council.

Section 2 approves and incorporates new matter, including changes to the State traffic code and general offenses provisions that the City must incorporate in order to harmonize its Codified Ordinances with State law and impose fines and penalties accordingly for violations.

Section 3 of the Ordinance removes those sections of the City’s Codified Ordinances that are no longer effective in light of modifications.

Exhibit A of the Ordinance provides a summary of all new matters included with the current Code update.

 

American Legal Publishing Corporation provides continuous online updates pursuant to Ordinances and Resolutions passed by Council that pertain to the Codified Ordinances.  With passage of this Ordinance, our local Code will be up-to-date and consistent with State laws.
