Brief Description:   This project involves renovation work to the gazebo in honor of Americans 250th including railing repair, concrete replacement, landscaping, utilities, ADA lift, and painting.

Purpose & Explanation

The project design and specifications are in process for this project.  The administration is seeking Council approval to proceed with bidding and award of a construction contract for the Gazebo Legacy Project. 

A ‘Lets Talk Hudson’ Engagement page has been established and will be active to collect further community input ahead of Councils consideration.  

 

Tentative Timeline:

Proposed Council Authorization - March 17, 2026

Final Design and cost estimates -March, 2026

Bid and Award all contracts -March & April 2026

Construction Commencement - April or May 2026

Completion and open to the community  - July 4, 2026

 

Available Capital Budget funding:

$65,000 (Gazebo Renovations)

$75,000 (Hawk Signal Design Reappropriation)

$40,000 (Annual Concrete Program)

 

The project estimate is a not to exceed cost of $180,000.00.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to bid the project and award contracts with the lowest and best bid and we are requesting an emergency in order to complete this project by the July 4th holiday.
