Legislative History
2014 Resolution # 14-155 - Permission to bid.
Purpose & Explanation
The global positioning system equipment (GPS) and monitoring services include all Public Works and Parks vehicles. In 2015 the system will be comprised of 89 units at an annual monitoring and maintenance cost of $33,635.  This represents no change in the unit monitoring fees for the year 2015.
The GPS Insight Company is the sole source professional services vendor for the City's GPS monitoring and Software applications.
GPS tracking helps control fuel costs, improves productivity, improves customer service, improves fleet safety, makes the fleet greener, and reduces labor costs by providing managers with real-time data/information, alerts, and reports on fleet activities 24/7.
With annual GPS monitoring charges exceeding $25,000, The Public Works Department seeks to renew said services for the 2015 year.
