A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND INSPECTION SERVICES WITH QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTIONS, INC.
Executive Summary: The City of Hudson Engineering Department currently performs public inspections with our staff and the City also contracts with a private construction management service on the road programs. In addition to the road programs, the City may decide to utilize the construction management/inspection services on other miscellaneous capital improvement projects and for private developments as they arise within the City.

Purpose & Explanation
The City of Hudson received a proposal from the following firm along with their hourly rate for construction inspection services for the City of Hudson:

RFP’s were also sent out to Arcadis, GPD Group and EDG none of these companies returned proposals.

Timing Considerations
With the approval of this Resolution, the City of Hudson would enter into and fully execute a contract with Quality Control Inspections, Inc. The new contract agreement will be for 2 years, beginning on January 1, 2016 and expiring on December 31, 2017.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends that with the level of service that Quality Control Inspections, Inc. has provided to the City of Hudson over the past several years, along with the large number of inspection personnel that Quality Control Inspections, Inc. can provide to the City, that City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Quality Control Inspections, Inc. for project representation in 2016 and 2017 as detailed above.
