Ordinance No. 16-46 stated, ‘The City shall invoice the applicant for City services provided to temporary special events at rates set by the City Manager. Purpose & Explanation
Based on the discussion at the City Council Workshop on May 23, 2023, Staff recommends that Council amend Ordinance 16-46 to remove the grandfathering of certain events exempting them from paying special event fees beginning on January 1, 2024, as the 2023 event season is already underway. Staff recommends that the City Manager or their designee maintains the authority to set the fee structure for city services at special events. Staff proposes those rates to be established at $25 per application, $15 per day of water access requested, $15 per day of electric access required, $215 per road closure or opening (unless the road is located within the DORA in which case the fee shall be waived), and $50 per hour per off duty police officer required.
