Purpose & Explanation

The Downtown Pedestrian Phase 2 Project includes new curb ramps and sidewalk along S. Main Street between Bard Drive and Stoney Hill Drive, new curb bump out and crosswalk improvements at N. Main Street and Owen Brown Street and other curb ramp upgrades along SR 91 and SR 303.

The construction costs will be split 90% ODOT / 10% City via Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Federal Safety funds.  The ODOT funding for construction is capped at $580,122.  Any costs over this amount are the responsibility of the City.

The current estimated costs of construction of the project is $744,962, which includes contingency.  Of this amount, up to $580,122 of construction will be paid for with Federal Safety funds, paid directly to the contractor.  The remaining $164,840 will be paid with local funding, 

This project is scheduled to be formally bid in late 2025 with construction to begin in early 2026.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise, receive bids and award a contract to the lowest and best bidder for the Downtown Pedestrian Phase 2 Project (PID# 120285)   Project.
