Purpose & Explanation
This project will include the installation of an asphalt pad and the relocation of the existing temporary salt storage foundation for the relocation of the salt barn at the former YDC site
The project is scheduled for construction in late 2026. Work includes site clearing, grading, installation of new asphalt pad and relocation of existing salt barn foundation to the new site. Reference preliminary site plan attached.
The estimated project cost of construction for both the asphalt pad and the relocation of the existing temporary salt storage foundation is $650,000 which includes 10% contingency.
Following the approval of this Resolution by City Council, the Engineering Department will advertise on the City’s website for 3 weeks and receive bids for this project. Staff will only return to Council if the bids received are in excess of 10% of the Engineer’s Estimate; otherwise, the City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder.
