Title
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE TWO TRUCKS THROUGH THE COMMUNITY, UNIVERSITY & EDUCATION PURCHASING ASSOCIATION (C.U.E.) PROGRAM FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Executive Summary:   As part of the approved 2014 fleet capital replacement budget the Public Works Department has obtained CUE government program pricing for the purchase of two (2) fleet vehicles and wishes to secure pricing and place vehicle orders.
Body
Legislative History
Resolution 13-157, permission to seek bids and competitive pricing for the 2014 budget year.
Purpose & Explanation
Due to the unavailability of these two fleet replacement vehicles in 2014 models, Public Works will purchase 2015 models (See attached table). These vehicles will be purchased through Montrose Auto Group on the CUE purchasing program.  Vehicle equipment/attachments will be purchased through competitive quotes at time of installation.
Due to the purchase of the 2015 models these two vehicles have come in slightly higher than 2014 estimates.   However, additional appropriation may not be required depending on the actual costs of the remaining fleet replacement vehicles.  Therefore, if total purchases should exceed the approved 2014 replacement budget staff will request appropriations to cover the adjustment.
Timing Considerations
Staff would request emergency legislation to expedite the ordering of the trucks and associated equipment.
Fiscal Impact
 X        Currently Budgeted
        Supplemental Appropriation Required
        Appropriation Not Required.
Recommendation
Suggested Action
Staff recommends City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a purchase agreement with the Montrose Auto Group 3960 Medina Rd Akron, Ohio 44333 for the purchase of one (1) 2015 Ford-F250 Super Duty Truck and one(1) 2015 Ford-F550-Dump Body at a total purchase price not to exceed $100,027.30.
