Resolution No. 19-185, authorizing the City Manager, during the year 2020, to advertise for bids or to utilize the various Charter-authorized governmental competitive purchase programs for equipment; passed December 17, 2019.

Purpose & Explanation

Quotes for these equipment replacements were received in 2020 utilizing the State Terms Schedule purchasing program (STS). 

The City staff is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a purchase agreement with Century Equipment for the following pieces of equipment:

-                     One (1) turf sprayer machine at a cost of   $48,912.94 (Parks)

-                     Two (2) baseball infield rakes at a cost of  $29,500.00. (Parks)

(STS Contract #800816-STS515).

And with Baker Vehicle Systems for the following pieces of equipment:

-                     Two (2) rotary mowers at a cost of $22,732.00 (Parks)

-                     One (1) rotary mower at a cost of $11,993.00  (Cemeteries)  

(STS Contract # 800261). 

Parks Total Price…………$101,144.94

Cemetery Total Price……$11,993.00

Total for all equipment….$113,137.94

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to award and enter into a purchase agreement with Century Equipment, 5959 Angola Rd., Toledo OH 43615, for the purchase of two (2) infield rakes and one (1) sprayer machine, under STS contract #OH800-816STS515 for total purchase price of $78,412.94; and with  Baker Vehicle Systems, 9035 Freeway Dr. Macedonia OH 44056 for the purchase of two (3) rotary mowers under STS contract #OH-STS800604 for a total purchase price of $34,725.00. Total for all equipment = $113,137.94
