Purpose & Explanation
This resolution will enable staff to bid and award a one-year printing/mailing services contract, with the option for an additional one-year extension, to a firm that is best to continue the printing and mailing of the Focus on Hudson newsletter. This contract and one-year extension would not exceed an annual amount of $35,000 per year.
The City increased the number of Focus on Hudson issues from 4 to 6 issues per year beginning in 2025. The combined 2025-2026 cost is $58,800. For 2026, we are spending approximately $6,000 per issue or $30,000 per year. We increased the annual estimate to $35,000 per year to allow for increased cost of printing, postage and new housing.
Focus on Hudson is one of the primary communications vehicles to reach all Hudson households, particularly for those individuals who do not use social media as their source for City news.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to competitively bid and award a contract to provide printing and mailing services for the Focus on Hudson newsletter. Council could also re-consider the number of the mailings.
