Brief Description:   This Resolution would authorize the advertisement, receipt of bids and award of contracts for capital items, services, equipment, and materials and supplies for Public   Works operations as included in the approved 2023 Annual Budget.

 Purpose & Explanation

The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to advertise, bid and award contracts and make purchases for the 2023 Public Works Purchasing Program pursuant the approved 2023 City budget. A detailed list of all items has been attached and have been reviewed during the budgeting process. These items are scheduled to be bid out after January 1, 2023, and contracts will be entered into during the course of the 2023 year.

The program includes procurement of the following:

1.) Equipment 
2.) Service Contracts
3.) Materials

 

Areas of operation within the Public Works Department: 

 

1.) Water Plant/Distribution

2.) Streets Maintenance/Traffic Signs

3.) Storm Water Maintenance

4.) Public Properties

5.) Arborist -Street Trees

6.) Municipal Cemeteries

7.) Municipal Parks

8.) Municipal Golf Course

9.) City Fleet Division

10.) HPP

 

Award of these projects will be based upon the approved 2023 capital budget.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise, receive bids and award contracts and to utilize charter-authorized governmental competitive purchasing programs for the procurement of construction materials, supplies, services, equipment, and vehicles for the operation of Public Works in the 2023 budget year.
