Purpose & Explanation
Bids were received on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 for the Hudson Drive Waterline Improvement Project. Below is the Engineer’s Estimate along with the respective bids.
Base Bid Engineer’s Estimate: $720,555.00
X-Press Underground $529,511.00
Lockhart Concrete Co. $603,226.00
S.E.T., Inc. $872,443.00
Also included in the bid were two alternative options. Alternative 1 includes the installation of an additional 639 feet of new 12” PVC, water main along Hudson Drive, and Alternative 2 includes the installation of an additional 759 feet of new 12” PVC, water main along Hudson Gate Drive. Below is X-Press Underground’s bid for each of the Alternative Options.
Alternative 1 = $111,785.00
Alternative 2 = $131,019.00
The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with X-Press Underground for the Hudson Drive Waterline Improvement Project base bid and alternative 2 for a total cost of $660,530.00. The Engineering Staff is also requesting a 10% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction. The total amount would be $726,583.00.
Total Contract = $726,583.00 ($529,511.00-base + $131,019.00-alternative 2 + $66,053.00-contingency)
