Brief Description:  Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code, Section 3709.07, City Council must approve the City Manager’s appointment of a City of Hudson representative to serve on the Summit County Public Health (SCPH) Board of Health.

Ordinance No. 91-36, To Authorize the City Manager to Enter into a Contract with the Summit County General Health District, passed May 6, 1991.

Motion No. 14-0091, Council approval of Larry Nichols as the City’s representative to serve on the SCPH Board of Health, passed December 3, 2014.

Resolution No. 18-150, Council approval of Dr. James Boex as the City’s representative to serve on the SCPH Board of Health beginning January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2022.

Purpose & Explanation

Pursuant to ORC, Section 3709.07, the City Manager would like to appoint Dr. Catherine Cook to serve as the City’s representative on the SCPH Board of Health for a new four-year term, and City Council must formally approve this appointment.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve the City Manager’s appointment of Dr. Catherine Cook to serve as the City of Hudson’s representative to the SCPH Board of Health and declaring an emergency for the public health and welfare of the City.
