Resolution 18-188, approved on 12/18/18, authorized staff to receive pricing on goods and services. 

Purpose & Explanation

The Police Department facility carpeting was installed at the time of the building’s original construction in 2002.  The areas in which the carpet will be replaced are high traffic areas such as hallways, dispatch, and patrol areas.   The Public Properties staff has specified replacement products consist of commercial grade nylon and polyester carpet squares with walk off technology at all exterior door entries.

Bids for the replacement were received on March 15 for the carpet replacement.  Below is the Public Properties Budgeted amount along with the respective bids.

Public Properties Budgeted Amount:                     $30,000.00

Northern Flooring Specialists                     $25,182.56

The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Norther Flooring Specialists for the carpet replacement.  The total amount would be $25,182.56 on Ohio State Term Pricing Schedule STS721-800483.

Total Contract = $25,182.56

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Northern Flooring Specialists in Valley View Ohio for carpet replacement at the Hudson Police facility at a cost not to exceed $25,182.56 and declaring an emergency.
