Executive Summary: The Public Works Department employees plow snow on city roadways, while contracting for snow plowing for City’s 219 cul-de-sacs. The current contract is for a two (2) term with two-year contract renewal option. Based on contract performance and newly submitted contract renewal pricing, staff wishes to award the renewal contract at this time.

Purpose & Explanation
The Public Works Service Division contracts for the snow plowing of all city cul-de-sacs. Currently there are 219 cul-de-sac locations to be serviced during and after winter weather events. H&M Snow Pros, Inc. is the current contract company and has performed services very well during the last contract term which expired on May 1, 2018. Attached is the renewal pricing submittal tab which shows an 11.29% decrease in contract pricing for this two-year contract renewal. The annual budget for cul-de-sac snow plowing is $55,000.
Timing Considerations
Upon City Council approval, the Public Works Staff will execute the Cul-de-Sac snow contract renewal for the term of November 1, 2018 through May 31, 2020.

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract for City Cul-De-Sac snow and ice control services with H & M Snow Pros, Inc., 10389 Kinsman Road, Newbury, OH 44065 for a contract term of two years commencing on November 1, 2018 through May 31, 2020 at the unit prices submitted.
