Purpose & Explanation

Following discussions at 2019 City Council and Park Board meetings and project feedback from local and regional skaters, designers created a 2000 square foot larger plan incorporating user safety and functionality concerns . Following final design completion, the project construction was advertised for competitive bid. Two bids were received. The low bid submitted by Grindline Skateparks Co., represent a 3.5% increase above the project estimate.

    ●    Less Vans Shoe Company Grant                     - $50,000

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to enter the contract with Grindline Skateparks 14th Ave SW, Seattle WA 98106, (206) 932-6414, for the construction of the skatepark at Veterans Way Park in the amount of $388,250.00
