Title

A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 26-8 TO INCREASE FUNDING FOR THE FRANKLIN STREET WATERLINE PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

Body

Legislative History

26-8 - Permission to Bid and Award; 1/20/2026

Purpose & Explanation

This work includes the replacement of a failing, 6” water main with a new 8” water main along Franklin Street between Aurora Street and the end of Franklin Street where it enters the school property.

This waterline replacement was original bid as part of a larger project along with the proposed sidewalk installation along Franklin Street.  That project’s bids came in over budget and therefore, the waterline portion of the project was rebid as a separate, stand-alone project.

Bids for the waterline project were received on May 19, 2026, with the lowest bid submitted by SiteWorx Unlimited at $264,470.00. This amount is above the Engineer’s Estimate of $249,950, but within the allowable 10%.

In order to allow for 10% contingency to handle unforeseen circumstances, staff is requesting an additional $17,051.00. Bringing the total award to $290,917.00
