Executive Summary: The Public Works Department employees plow snow on city roadways, while contracting out snow plowing on city cul-de-sac areas. A two-year contract with an option to renew for two years is offered to a qualified bidder. Staff wishes to award contract for the next two-year contract term.

Purpose & Explanation
The Public Works Service Division contracts for the snow plowing of all city cul-de-sacs. Currently there are 218 cul-de-sac locations to be serviced during and after snow events. H& M Snow Pros, Inc. was the only company to submit a bid. Dun-Rite Snow Plowing, LLC held the contract the previous two years. Attached is the bid tab which shows a 2.9% increase in contract pricing for this two-year contract. The annual budget for cul-de-sac snow plowing is $61,000.
Timing Considerations
Upon City Council approval, the Public Works Staff will execute the Cul-de-Sac snow contract for the term of November 1, 2016 through May 31, 2018.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract for Cul-De-Sac Snow Plowing and Salting with H&M Snow Pros, Inc., 10389 Kinsman Road, Newbury, OH 44065 for a contract term of two years commencing on November 1, 2016 through May 31, 2018 at the unit prices submitted.
This contract provides for a two-year renewal term, provided the services are acceptable and the pricing remains reasonable.
