Title

Summit County Fiber Line through Cascade Park and Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course

Brief Description:  As part of the Summit County Fiber Loop, a new fiber line is anticipated to be installed through Cascade Park and the Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course.

Body

Legislative History

None.

Purpose & Explanation

As part of the Summit County Fiber Loop Project, Summit County has requested to install a new fiber line through Cascade Park and Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course along the existing trail (see attached Exhibit Map).

During the installation of underground fiber conduit, the alignment may shift by a few feet in order to avoid any unforeseen obstacles such as large trees or unmapped, existing infrastructure.

Therefore, staff is recommending that the new fiber conduit line be installed via permission from the City utilizing the City-drafted Temporary Work Agreement attached.    Once the final, permanent alignment of the new fiber conduit line is installed and approved; staff will return to Council for permission to enter into permanent Easement Agreement for the exact alignment of the new fiber conduit.

Construction of the new Summit County Fiber Loop Project is anticipated for late 2024.
