Executive Summary: The Public Works Department employees plow snow on city roadways, while contracting out snow plowing and ice control services on City maintained parking lots and sidewalks. A two-year contract with an option to renew for two years was awarded to a qualified bidder in 2016. Staff wishes to award the renewal contract for an additional 2-year term at this time.

Purpose & Explanation
The Public Works Service Division contracts for the snow plowing of all city maintained parking lots and sidewalks. Currently, there are sidewalks in over thirty locations and eleven parking lots covered by this contract. Included in this count are the downtown business district sidewalks, school crosswalks, municipal parking deck, greens, and parking lots at city maintained buildings. H& M Snow Pros, Inc. has submitted renewal pricing at this time. They have performed well during the previous two-year contract period. Attached is the renewal pricing tab which shows pricing will remain unchanged for this next two-year contract renewal term.
Timing Considerations
Upon City Council approval, the Public Works Staff will execute the city properties snow and ice control contract for the term of November 1, 2018 through May 31, 2020.

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract for city properties snow and ice control with H & M Snow Pros, Inc., 10389 Kinsman Road, Newbury, OH 44065 for a contract term of two years commencing on November 1, 2018 through May 31, 2020 at the unit prices submitted.
