Legislative History
Resolution 12-15 authorizing the advertisement for bids; approved 2/1/2012
Purpose & Explanation
This work is being performed due to the substantial amount of erosion which in turn has caused a potential safety issue, loss of property, transportation of additional sediment downstream as well as jeopardizing the integrity of the existing sanitary sewer that is crossing the creek.

Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Geotech Services, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio for the Brandywine Creek 2012 Streambank Stabilization Project.  We would also like to award an alternate option to upgrade the Galvanized Gabions to PVC Coated Gabions for a price difference of $1,095.00.  This would change the bid price to $78,525.90.  The Engineering Staff is also requesting a 10% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction in the amount of $7,852.59.  Total Project Cost = $78,525.90 (bid + alternate) + $7,852.59 (10% cont.) = $86,378.49
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed from City Council, Administration will award and enter into a contract with Geotech Services, Inc. for the above contract.
