Brief Description:  This purchase includes the tables and chairs for the lower level Community Rooms at the new City Hall.  Tables and chairs for the 1st-floor Boards and Commissions Room will be addressed at a later date.

Purpose & Explanation

In order to provide seating and tables for the public meetings in each of these areas of the new City Hall, new tables and chairs will need to be purchased to accommodate the different meetings in these areas of the building.

 

The Lower Level Community Rooms cost breakdown are as follows:

200 stackable chairs @ $68.04/chair  =   $13,608.00

5 chair carts @ $189.78/cart  =  $ 948.90

25 - 8 ft. long tables (30” width) @ $90.55/table  =  $ 2,263.75

10 - 5 ft. long tables (30” width) @ $50.26/table  =  $ 502.60

3  - table carts @ $334.00/cart  =  $ 1,002.00

 

Total Cost of Lower Level Community Rooms Tables and Chairs                       $ 18,325.25

 

The 1st Floor Board and Commission Room cost breakdown are as follows:

80 guest chairs @ $168.70/chair  =  $13,496

12 executive chairs @ $ 292.88/chair  =  $3,514.56

10 - 8 ft. long tables (30” width) @ $90.55/table  =  $905.50

2 table carts @ $ 334.00/cart  =   $668.00

Suggested Action

Staff recommends City Council approve the City Manager to enter into a contract with Independence Business Supply for the purchase of tables and chairs for the City Hall Building as described above.
