Purpose & Explanation

The Public Works Department was contacted earlier this year by the Hudson City Schools to assist with developing options to relocate their radio equipment from 91 Owen Brown to the new facility located on Hudson Drive. The Public Works Department, Hudson City Schools and their communications contractor developed several potential installation methods to address their needs. These options were reviewed with the most feasible method being the installation of the radio antenna mounted to the water tower on Darrow Road at a lower elevation on one of the tower’s support legs.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a water tower lease agreement with Hudson City Schools for communications antenna attachment on the Darrow Road water tower.  Emergency language is being requested due to timing considerations.
