Brief Description:  This code amendment would make the Hudson troop organizations of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, exempt from rental fees associated with the scheduled use of the City Hall Community rooms and the Barlow Community Center Community rooms.

Purpose & Explanation

The Hudson troop organizations of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the United States of American, have requested the City exempt them from City rental space fees.  The organizations are currently able to rent meeting space at both the City Hall Community Rooms and the Barlow Community Center. Both the parent organizations; Boy Scouts of America, and the Girl Scouts of the United States of America use City meeting spaces. 

The 2023 rental revenue from both organizations is $675.00.

See attached amended version of ordinance indicating organizations currently exempt from paying for space in city community rooms available for rent.

The Staff recommends City Council pass this ordinance adding the Boy Scouts of America, and the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, as exempt from rental fees associated with the Hudson City Hall community rooms and the Barlow Community Center rooms.
