Title

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE CURRENT GOLF CART LEASE AGREEMENT WITH LAKE ERIE GOLF CARS.

Brief Description:  Due to golf cart wear issues and failures, staff is looking to amend the current golf cart lease to restructure the term of carts and alleviate this issue.

Body

Legislative History

RESOLUTION NO. 20-162: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, DURING THE YEAR 2026, TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS OR TO UTILIZE THE VARIOUS CHARTER-AUTHORIZED GOVERNMENTAL COMPETETIVE PURCHASING PROGRAMS AND ENTER INTO CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS , SUPPLIES, SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT

Purpose & Explanation

The current golf car fleet is failing due to excessive use. Normal wear when the last agreement was created was based on a 35,000 round golf season. Ellsworth is now at a consistent 50,000+round level. This has been noticeable with cart failures and down time. This down time is limiting/affecting play and has the potential to affect revenue if conditions get worse. This amended agreement will allow for a new 70 cart fleet to be delivered later this season. The city will not make the last $66,150 payment on the old agreement. The first payment of the new agreement will be in 2027. The new agreement will be for a six-year term. Ellsworth will receive a new fleet after the third year. This will alleviate the wear issues we are currently faced with.

The amended lease will be completed through the Sourcewell contract # 091024-JCS.  It is anticipated that the golf cars will arrive in 2026.
