Resolution No. 15-119 authorized existing 2-year contract with AA Sanitation, which includes a renewal option for additional 2 years.
Resolution No. 16-190 granted permission to advertise for bids and obtain competitive pricing including contract refuse and recycling receptacle services.
Purpose & Explanation
The Public Properties Division contracts for refuse and recycling removal services in the downtown business area and for specified public properties. The current contract is a two (2) year term with an option to renew the contract for two (2) additional years if services are acceptable and pricing remains reasonable. The Public Works Department has been satisfied with AA Sanitation’s performance over the term of the existing contract.
AA Sanitation has submitted renewal bid pricing to hold current pricing at $4.50 per receptacle per visit for a renewal contract term of two years. The current contract term expires on December 31, 2017. The renewal term will commence on January 1, 2018 and run through December 31, 2019. This contract will again be out to public bid for the term 2020-2021.

Staff recommends City Council approve the resolution to allow the City Manager to enter into a contract renewal with AA Sanitation, 41 Sussex Road, Hudson OH 44236 for contract refuse and recycle receptacle services at the price of $4.50 per receptacle per service visit for a contract term of two (2) years with a not to exceed total contract amount of $32,378.00 per year.
