Brief Description: This contract is for the provision of employee uniforms and building floor mats within the Public Works Department and City Facilities. Competitive public biding was completed and Council awarded a two-year contract in 2018. The original contract included the option for a two-year renewal. Staff wishes to award the contract for a two-year renewal term based on good performance and desirable pricing.

Purpose & Explanation
This contract provides and maintains work uniforms for the Service, Public Properties, Water Resources and Hudson Public Power (Electric/Fire Rated) Divisions. It also provides floor mats in most public buildings. The contact renewal term is for two (2) years. During the first two years of the contract, Unifirst performed well and they have provided desirable renewal pricing.
New Bid amounts for annual service:
1. 2019- Original Contract- Unifirst Corporation $20,715.10
2. 2020- Renewal Pricing- Unifirst Corporation $21,029.54
While the annual costs of the contract will fall below $25,000, the total cost of the contract over two years exceeds $25,000. Unifirst Corporation’s bid represent a 1.52% increase in the current contract costs. The contract term will run through September 30, 2022.
