Brief Description: Due to the modification of the original design of the SR 303 Safety Project from Boston Mills Road to SR 91, the amount of Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) safety grant funding was reduced from $330,000 to $100,000.

Purpose & Explanation
The original agreement for the SR 303 Improvement Project was for a maximum amount of $330,000. Due to the modification of the original design, ODOT has reduced the funding for this project to $100,000. The City is responsible for all costs above the grant amount of $100,000.
Bids were received on August 5, 2025, with the lowest bid being in the amount of $148,155.96. The City would be responsible for $48,155.96, plus 10% contingency for a total construction cost amount of $62,971.56.
An emergency clause is being requested in order to expediate amending the safety grant agreement with ODOT and commence with construction with the low bidder.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends that the City Council approve this Resolution. This would authorize the City Manager to enter into an amended LPA Agreement with ODOT for the SR 303 Safety Improvements Project, PID# 117269. The resolution includes an emergency clause to expedite the process of amending the safety grant agreement, allowing construction to begin as soon as possible.
