Purpose & Explanation
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) misapplied the amount of the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (AMATS) funding assigned to the State Route 303 Resurfacing Project this past year.  The error was discovered earlier this summer by ODOT and they notified the City of Hudson of the accounting error.  The AMATS funding originally assigned by ODOT to the project was $150,000.00.  The AMATS funding that should have been assigned was only $72,000.  The AMATS funding participation was reduced to the actual amounts per the low bid for the project and due to this error the City of Hudson's participation in the project will need to be increased by $50,450.00.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends City Council authorize the City Manager to increase the amount of funding for the SR 303 (Streetsboro Road) Resurfacing Project with the Ohio Department of Transportation.  The City staff is also requesting that an emergency clause be added to the legislation in order to protect the public welfare and safety.
