Body
Legislative History
Resolution No. 19-64 - Enter into a mitigation agreement with the North Coast Regional Council of Parks Districts (NCRCPD) to mitigate wetland impacts for the Veterans Trail Phase 4 - Barlow Road Sidewalk project; passed 4/16/2019.
Purpose & Explanation
This project has been designed and will include the installation of an 8-foot-wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of Barlow Road from Nicholson Drive east to the Railroad Tracks (Approx. 2,850 ft.). The width will transition to a 7-foot-wide concrete sidewalk from the Railroad Tracks east to 1289 Barlow Road, which is across the former Flood Company Property (Approx. 925 ft.). From the former Flood Company property east property line to S.R. 91, the walk will taper to a standard 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk (Approx. 1,750 ft.). The approximate total project length is 5,525 ft. (1.05 miles), and a location map has been attached for reference. The sidewalk construction includes storm drainage improvements, grading, driveway repairs, and minor clearing and restoration.
The estimated total cost of construction of the project is $875,000 including contingency, of which approximately $30,975 will be paid for by LTC Realty from their in-lieu sidewalk fees at the former Flood Company property when they developed their site. The total cost includes a $75,000 contingency amount (9.4%) to keep the cost within the budgeted amount below ($800,000 estimated bid + $75,000 (9.4% contingency)). The total City of Hudson cost after the LTC Realty cost are deducted is $844,025.
The City will return to City Council if the cost exceeds the above total cost of the project.
The project is scheduled to be formally bid in May and construction would begin this summer. The construction duration will be approximately 5 months.
