Purpose & Explanation
Bid were received on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 for the Norton Road STP Resurfacing Project.  Below is the Engineers Estimate along with the respective bids.

The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Ronyak Paving, Inc.  for the Norton Road STP Resurfacing Project.  This work will consist of asphalt planning; full depth repairs; intermediate asphalt course; surface course; loop detectors and pavement striping on Norton Road from Stow Road to SR 91.  The Engineering Staff is requesting a 10% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction in the amount of $49,425.05.
 
Total Project Cost = $543,675.53
ODOT Funding = $434,940.42
Local Share (50%/50% split with City Stow) =$54,367.56 (Hudson); $54,367.56 (Stow)
 
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a contract with Ronyak Paving, Inc. for the above and coordinate with ODOT on the LPA Agreement for this project.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends that City Council approve this resolution authorizing the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Ronyak Paving, Inc.  and we are requesting an emergency clause be added to this legislation in order to maintain the public health and welfare and in order to maintain the project schedule with ODOT.
