Purpose & Explanation

This project consists of new traffic signals at the intersection of Stow Road and Middleton Road. This signal at this intersection was warranted in 2021 as part of the Stow Road and Middleton Road Intersection Study which recommended the installation of the new signal to improve safety and operational issues at the intersection.

The project will replace the existing flashing overhead beacon/stop signs at this intersection with the new poles with overhead mast arms, signal heads, controller cabinet, underground infrastructure, pedestrian signals, and pavement marking.

The estimated costs of construction of the project, including a 10% contingency is $250,000.

The project design has commenced, and construction is planned for the summer while school is out of session.
