Resolution No. 21-21 affirming submission of grant application; passed by Council on March 2, 2021.

Purpose & Explanation

City Council discussed the proposed expansion of National Register and Locally designated Historic Districts on September 8, 2020.  Due to the strong support received from residents surveyed along Elm Street and Roslyn Avenue, staff have begun to pursue the expansion.  Staff has contracted with Naylor Wellman Historic Preservation LLC to complete the documentation for the application.  Staff applied for a Certified Local Government Grant from the State of Ohio Preservation Office in February 2021.  The grant in an amount of $20,000 has recently been awarded to the City of Hudson.  The funds are anticipated to fully fund the $20,000 consultant services required to complete the required site documentation, reporting, and application to seek expansion of the district.
