Brief Description: The City Tennis & Pickleball Court Complex Project includes the construction of park features and amenities for public access Tennis & Pickleball courts. Per the City Charter, Section 9.02 - Planning Commission - Powers and Duties, the construction of parks or playgrounds shall be submitted to the Planning Commission for report and recommendation.

Resolution No. 21-86 - Permission to advertise for professional services for the design of the Parks Tennis & Pickleball Courts Complex.
Purpose & Explanation
The Planning Commission (PC) reviewed this project at the February 14, 2022 meeting. The PC recommendations letter has been attached for review. The Commission had three items in their recommendation.
1. Address pedestrian accommodations by depicting the future multipurpose trail, adjusting
the restroom location and widening the walkway at the northern courts.
- The multipurpose trail has been accommodated in the plan for future installation.
Restroom and walkway requests have been addressed in the final construction plans.
2. City of Hudson Engineering comments and requirements
- Engineering requirements have all been met.
3. Gas well and tank battery safety
- Staff is working with gas well Co. to address any security issues present around the well and tank battery.
Base Bid Items
1. Construction of twelve (12) Pickleball Courts with fencing
2. Construction of five (5) Tennis Courts with fencing
3. Installation of a men /women public restroom
4. Associated parking lot and court lighting system infrastructure (For potential future installation).
Alternate Bid Items
1. Practice wall.
2. Benches and seating.
3. Supply / Equipment storage shed.
4. Pavilion structure(s).
5. Water Fountains.
6. Fencing windscreens.
The project construction is scheduled for spring/summer 2022.
City of Hudson staff has posted the project information on the “Let’s Talk Hudson” social media platform and has received all positive comments and questions. There are no residential homes or subdivisions abutting the park property where the complex will be constructed.
Review of this project by the Planning Commission is required per the City Charter, Section 9.02.
