Body

Legislative History

Ordinance No. 20-160; enacting a new Chapter 876, “Short-Term Rental Operations,” of the Business Regulation Code; adopted February 2, 2021.

Purpose & Explanation

At the July 27, 2021 workshop session, Council confirmed an interest in considering amendments to the Ordinance based on the marked-up version forwarded by Councilor Bigham and the comments generated during the discussion.

City Council further discussed the following specific amendments to consider during a workshop discussion at the August 24th meeting.  Please see the attached memo and draft amendments.

Based on Council discussions at the October 12, 2021 workshop, the proposed legislation has been further revised to restrict a short-term rental from being within a detached dwelling unit or structure.  Staff has reviewed all currently permitted short-term rental locations and confirmed none are operating within an accessory structure.
