Ordinance No. 23-116 authorized the issuance of $1,900,000 in notes for the purchase of the land
Ordinance No. 24-80 authorized the contract with Brandstetter Carroll, Inc for the design of the new facility
Ordinance 24-114 authorized the issuance of $3,295,000 in notes for the purchase of land and cost of design of the new facility
Ordinance 25-131 an ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of not to exceed $31,000,000 of notes, in anticipation of bonds, for the purpose of paying costs of construction, furnishing and equipping a facility.
Purpose & Explanation
In 2023, City Council authorized the City Manager to acquire property on Hudson Drive for the development of a dedicated facility. Subsequently, in 2024, the City Manager was authorized to enter into a professional services agreement for the design of the new Public Works Facility.
Over the past year, City staff have collaborated closely with the design firm to optimize the operational efficiency of the proposed facility. The final design for the Hudson Public Works Facility Project has been completed and received formal approval from the Hudson Planning Commission
With Council approval, the staff seeks legislation authorizing the City Manager to publicly bid for and award a construction contract for the project.
Budget Amount- $30,913,768.00 (Construction)
Contingency Amount- $1,081,980.00
Total Project cost with 3.5% Contingency - $31,996,288.00
The Public Works Facility expense would be applied to the following funds, General Fund: $24,894,587.00, Electric Fund $4,350,640.00, Water Fund $2,751,061.00.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends the City Council approve this legislation authorizing the City Manager to publicly bid and award a construction contract for the project to the lowest and best bidder not to exceed the budgeted amount including the contingency.
