Brief Description:  Repealing and rescinding the moratorium will provide City Council the opportunity to evaluate development activity in the community and review Planning Commission recommendations before prioritizing future Land Development Code amendments.

Resolution 25-143 adopted October 7, 2025 and effective November 6, 2025. 

Purpose & Explanation

The Planning Commission adopted a motion on August 11, 2025 requesting City Council advance a 90 day moratorium on applications to allow the Commission time to study Land Development Code amendments based on a list of forwarded recommendations.  City Council proceeded to adopt a 90 day moratorium on October 7, 2025, effective November 6, 2025. 

Since the establishment of the moratorium, several new members have been elected to City Council.  Repealing and rescinding the moratorium will provide City Council the opportunity to evaluate development activity in the community and review Planning Commission recommendations before prioritizing future Land Development Code amendments.
