17-65 - Authorized City to Enter into Cost-Share Agreement with NEORSD for the Brandywine Creek Watershed Study; passed 4/18/2017
Purpose & Explanation
Since 2003, the City of Hudson has completed a number of significant capital improvements and maintenance projects throughout the Brandywine Creek Watershed storm sewer system including retention pond improvements, storm sewer and culvert replacements, and other drainage infrastructure projects. As a result, an updated, comprehensive study was required to determine the City’s next course of action to further alleviate flooding and improve water quality in the watershed.
In 2017, the City hired CDM Smith, Inc. to expand NEORSD’s Cuyahoga River South Study Master Plan to include evaluation of Hudson-specific areas of concern within Brandywine Creek watershed. An Executive Summary of the study is attached, and staff will present the results of the study and proposed projects identified to alleviate flooding and other storm water concerns.
Staff will also report on the City-wide storm drainage projects completed since 2003.
