Purpose & Explanation

At the direction of City Council at this year’s retreat, staff explored options for participating in a comprehensive community calendar that would bring together a wide range of City and other civic events and public meetings in one, easy-to-access location.

The Hudson Community Foundation has led the project’s development and will ultimately manage the calendar platform, oversee event submissions, and make final determinations on event postings.  Each stakeholder who wishes to post on the calendar must sign an agreement, agreeing to the Foundation’s rules and regulations.

Details of how the Foundation’s calendar will be managed, as well as estimated costs, are included in the attached memo from the October 28 meeting.  The online platform’s launch date is in early 2026.

The City has been asked and staff is recommending that the City pay the initial online setup costs for the platform.
