Body

Legislative History

20-0158 - Small Business Relief Program, discussed at Council meetings on December 15, 2020, and January 5, 2021, as well as the workshop on January 12, 2021.

Purpose & Explanation

In 2020, picnic tables were relocated from the Hudson Parks to provide additional outdoor seating within the downtown and DORA areas.   This proved to be a quick fix to provide additional seating.  These tables have been in place for some time now and have been heavily used.  Staff has received favorable comments on their usage and locations throughout the downtown area.  In order to provide a better fitting, more attractive product and to return the picnic tables to their intended use within the Hudson Parks, staff wishes to purchase new tables and outdoor furniture.  The projected cost of the outdoor furniture is estimated at $50,000.00.  Staff has reviewed the furniture type and locations with merchants, and the idea has been very well received.  Please see attached for furniture locations and descriptions.
