Body

Legislative History

Resolution 19-108, authorizing the City Manager to advertise for competitive bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for the asphalt paving of the gravel parking lot on the east side of the Hudson Public Power facility; passed July 30, 2019.

Purpose & Explanation

During the 2019 operational year, Hudson Public Power proceeded with the original engineering estimate of $50,000 for paving work at the Hudson Gate facility. This work entailed paving the east side of the property from the street to the southeast corner of the building. During the design process, it was discovered the existing substrate would not support the weight of the vehicles traversing this area and would need additional base materials. The engineering estimate was revised to $90,000 to account for the additional work and materials for this project. In December of 2019, this project was included as an alternate in the Engineering Department’s Asphalt Program, and a bid price of $81,900 was received at the closing of the bidding process.

The City Administration is requesting City Council approval of $81,900 in funding, plus a contingency amount of $8,100 for the parking lot area of the Hudson Public Power Hudson Gate Facility, for a total amount not to exceed $90,000.
