Resolution No. 22-71, authorizing the City Manager to exercise its right of first refusal acquiring the Real Property located at 94 Owen Brown Street; passed 5/27/2022.

Resolution No. 22-125, providing the issuance of bonds for costs associated with the redevelopment of the real estate; passed 10/18/2022.

Resolution No. 23-44, authorizing the City Manager to enter into a professional services contract with TRC Environmental Corporation for the demolition and hazardous material mitigation of 94 Owen Brown Street; passed 5/2/2023.

Purpose & Explanation

The project design and specifications have been completed for this project.  Staff seek to proceed with bidding and awarding a construction contract.  The construction consists of identified hazardous martials mitigation, demolition of the structure, and restoring the site to an open field.  The Engineering consultant estimate for the project is $200,000. 

Engineer’s Estimate: $

The staff is requesting a 10% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction.  The total amount would be $220,000.

Total Contract = $200,000-base  +  $20,000-contingency

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that Council approve this authorization for the City Manager to advertise, receive bids and award to the lowest and best bidder for the hazardous materials and demolition project at 94 Owen Brown Street.
