Body

Legislative History

Ordinance No. 20-143, adoption of the 2021 Budget, passed on December 1, 2020.

Resolution No. 20-162, authorizing advertisement for bids and utilization of governmental competitive purchasing programs for vehicles, passed on December 15, 2020.

Purpose & Explanation

As discussed during the budget meetings last year, the Police Department would like to purchase five vehicles which are replacement vehicles for three (3) Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles and two (2) Chevrolet Tahoe Police vehicles. The five requested cruiser replacements are in line with Fleet Department’s recommendations for replacement.

The pricing for these replacement cruisers falls under Ohio State Contract RS900321(New, Model Year 2021 or Manufacturer’s Current Production Model - Law Enforcement Vehicles - effective through 10/30/2021) The Ohio STS pricing was again lower than other cooperative purchasing programs (GSA, CUE) for these law enforcement specific vehicles. The Ohio State Contract was awarded to Statewide Ford to supply the state of Ohio and political subdivisions with the 2021 Ford PI-Utility Police Vehicle.  The Ohio State Contract was awarded to Valley Ford Truck to supply the state of Ohio and political subdivisions with the 2021 Ford F-150 Responder Police Vehicle.

The total cost for these five replacement vehicles is $193,627.40.
