Purpose & Explanation

The City of Hudson received a private party-initiated application request to rezone parcel 320031 (presently D5 Village Core) and parcel 3200328 (presenting D4 Historic Residential Neighborhood) and a portion of 3201843 (presenting D4 Historic Residential Neighborhood) to District 3 - Outer Village Residential Neighborhood.

The amendment has been proposed by the Hudson Community Living Company.  The applicant has submitted a concept plan for an Institutional Residential facility which would house adults with special needs.  The use is permitted as a conditional use in Districts 3, 6, and 8; however, is not permitted within Districts 4 and 5.

The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing of the request and reviewed the application at the meeting of February 14, 2022.  In addition to the recommendation to approve the request, the Planning Commission recommended that parcel #3204067 and approximately .5 acres of parcel #3200225 (both owned by the City of Hudson) also be rezoned from the existing District 5 to District 3-Outer Village Residential in order to maintain consistent zoning district boundaries.
