Title

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A REWORKS COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE RECYCLING GRANT (CRAG).

Purpose & Explanation

Summit County Reworks provides an annual grant to financially support residential infrastructure for recycling or organics diversion within Summit County communities. For the purpose of this request, the City has determined the best use of funds is to offset personnel costs associated with the annual fall leaf pick up. Total award is based upon a formula determined by Reworks following grant application submittal. Grant does not require match funds. The reimbursement request for funds is submitted at the end of the fiscal year.

Funding allocation for eligible residential recycling services is based upon a formula provided by Reworks that includes:

The community’s population as stated in ReWorks updated Solid Waste Management Plan.

The type of residential recycling service the community provides to its residents.

o                     ReWorks, on a case-by-case basis, will evaluate providing credit for non-community run recycling drop-offs.

A Community cannot receive grant funds for more than 100% population recycling credit.

Eligibility of funding is determined by Reworks following application submittal. In previous years, the City has received the following awards:

                     2025 - $22, 102.00

                     2024 - $22,119.00

                     2023 - $22,133.00

                     2022 - $22,153.00

                     2021 - $22, 245.00
