Body
Legislative History
None.
Purpose & Explanation
The project includes the installation of a new 5-foot wide sidewalk along the east side of SR 91 from Chapel Street to Prospect Street.
The estimated total cost of construction is $165,000, which includes a 10% contingency. Staff will return to City Council to seek additional funding if costs exceed this amount.
The City Manager and the WRA Headmaster met on January 20, 2026, to discuss America250 and WRA’s upcoming 200th Anniversary. During the meeting, the Headmaster offered the WRA Green as a location for America250 events. They also discussed how the City would help commemorate WRA’s 200th anniversary, including completing the sidewalk connection that would resolve a gap between WRA and downtown Hudson. This improvement would prevent students and faculty from having to cross SR 91 twice, at Prospect St. and Chapel St., or from walking along the grass near SR 91 traffic. The WRA Green is recognized as the heart of the campus and a gathering place for students, faculty, alumni, and local residents.
