A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH CENTURY EQUIPMENT FOR AN AERIFIER FOR GOLF COURSE USE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Purpose & Explanation
The golf course planned and budgeted for the replacement of two aerifiers for turf maintenance at the Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club. The Council approved purchase price for the units was $35,287.76. The supplier Century Equipment (Toro distributor) has indicated that Toro has discontinued production of the intended aerifiers, and they are no longer available and have increased in price. The staff does not feel the increase is worth the purchase and has located two available units with Deere and Company at a purchase price of $31,140.11. This price is below the approved budget and is acceptable.
The staff requests authorization to change the supply vendor for this purchase from Century Equipment to Deere and Company. The purchase will be made utilizing the Ohio State Purchasing Schedule - OH STS 515 contract.
