Purpose & Explanation

This is a request to submit the following applications to AMATS for Federal Funding assistance for the following projects:

Resurfacing Grant:

1.)  Terex Road Resurfacing (Londonairy Blvd. to Barlow Road)


Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) Grants:

1.) Veterans Trail Phase 2 - Trail along Prospect Street and Morse Road

2.) Veterans Trail Phase 5 - Trail between Veterans Way Park to Downtown

3.) Hines Hill/Valley View Road Roundabout


Transportation Alternatives Set Aside (TASA) Grants:

1.) Veterans Trail Phase 2 - Trail along Prospect Street and Morse Road

2.) Veterans Trail Phase 5 - Trail between Veterans Way Park to Downtown


Right-of-way acquisition & construction cost funding will be split 80%/20% (Federal/City) up to the grant caps.  The City of Hudson will be required to perform all engineering, any other misc. improvement costs at 100% local funds.

Recommendation

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this legislation authorizing the City to apply for the Federal Funding with AMATS for the above Projects.  This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peach, health, safety, convenience and welfare of the City of Hudson and the inhabitants thereof, for the reason that it is to apply for this funding by August 30, 2019.
